【時報-記者柯婉琇綜合外電報導】極特先進（GT Advanced Technologies）宣布，為蘋果供應藍寶石玻璃的計畫進展順利，預估公司可望在今年下半年由虧轉盈。

極特先進雖未透露向蘋果大量供應藍寶石玻璃的確切時間，但在其公開聲明裡明確指出，該公司與蘋果的合作進展順利。

極特先進執行長Tom Gutierrez在周一發布的公司財報中表示，位在亞利桑那州的新廠在上一季開始建造，亦已開始招募員工。該廠將供應蘋果未來產品所需的藍寶石玻璃。

Gutierrez亦表示，極特先進預期在今年下半年重拾獲利能力。基於極特先進與蘋果的代工合約規模，業界臆測蘋果今年稍晚可能推出採用藍寶石玻璃螢幕的iPhone手機。
