苗栗地檢署「居家水電修繕」班今天在大明社區大學開班，包括社會勞動人、更生人、受保護管束個案，共有20人參訓，他們每周四上課2小時，連續18星期，結訓後安排到社會機構檢修。

苗栗地檢署檢察長張宏謀、榮譽觀護人協會理事長邱建民等人，參加開訓典禮，張宏謀說，開班運用許多社會資源，包括運用緩起訴金的經費，結合佛光山大明寺的司法保護據點，並請來甲級電匠葉志峰上課，希望學員把握機會學得一技之長，至少在家修水電沒問題。

邱建民指出，水電工普遍欠缺，家裡水電要修，有時找水電工，比修的時間還要長，「1顆螺絲也可以賺大錢！」學員好好學習，就業不會有問題。
